South Side Stories

South Side Stories is a combination community project and research project that, “aims to raise the voices of African American youth ages 13-24 living on the South Side of Chicago, and create an innovative body of social science research and education to better inform community members who work with youth.” The digital stories are produced in workshops attended by participants from a group of partner organizations, and the stories are used as both peer education and organizing tools and as data for research inquiry.

Freedom Stories

This small collection of videos is the product of a novel production approach: young and promising Australian filmmakers were enlisted to create short films that tell stories of young people “coming to terms with their sexuality and gender.” The resulting films have high production value, and are presented on a website that simultaneously presents the story and presents the young filmmaker.
